LaBelle Fondue

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 16 oz. (1 pound) LaBelle cheese, grated*

               * LaBelle original plain, fenugreek or olive cheese can be used in this recipe. Using all the same variety of cheese is recommended (do not combine the different types of cheese in the fondue).



Blend butter, flour, salt, and pepper in a pan over low heat for 2-3 minutes until it’s a creamy white mixture (do not brown). Add half and half to the pan and blend with a whisk slowly. Add the grated LaBelle cheese. Continue to blend until all cheese is added. If the fondue is too thick, add more half and half (it should have the thickness of a gravy).

Serve the fondue with sliced apples, pears, grapes, french bread, or small cuts of cooked ham or beef.

 Serving size: serves 12-18 people, or make half the recipe for 6-8 people.
